Motorcycle Rider Training - July 29th

Martin Community College is offering a North Carolina Motorcycle Training Course for Basic Riders. The curriculum for the course was developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. The course is 22 hours long over 3 days, and will be conducted on Friday July 29th from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., Saturday July 30th and Sunday July 31st from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Friday night portion is classroom instruction. Saturdays and Sundays are spent on the range and in the classroom, with approximately 14 hours of range time and 4 hours of classroom time. Student’s attendance at all sessions is required. The classes will be held at Roanoke High School, Robersonville, North Carolina. The cost of the course is $115.00.

Students who are interested in taking the class must possess the physical stamina, motor coordination and mental alertness appropriate. Students under the age of 18 must have their parent(s) permission. No driver's license is required. Students are required to wear long pants, long sleeved shirts or jackets, eye protection, full finger gloves, over-the-ankle boots, and a DOT approved helmet. (For those who don't have a helmet, the instructor can provide a loaner.)

The state of North Carolina provides a $5000 medical insurance policy. This insurance acts as a secondary to any other insurance the student may have.
